How the hybrid system works
Heat pump water heaters trade room conditions and electrical readiness for substantially lower energy use.
A heat pump moves heat instead of making it directly. It uses substantially less electricity than a conventional electric tank, with hybrid backup for higher demand.
Fits a garage, basement, or utility space with at least 700 cubic feet, a condensate path, and room for airflow.
It does not fit a tight closet. Expect fridge-like noise, some cooling, slower recovery, and hybrid operation during heavier demand.
